Why Does My Tooth Hurt After a Crown or Dental Treatment?
A tooth may sometimes become sensitive or painful after receiving a crown or other dental treatment. But how do you know whether it is temporary or needs further evaluation?

Some discomfort can occur as the tooth and surrounding tissues respond to treatment. However, persistent or increasing pain may have other causes, such as bite-related pressure, irritation of the nerve, a crack, leakage around the restoration, decay or inflammation around the root.

The pattern of pain can provide important clues. Does it hurt mainly when biting? Is it sensitive to cold or hot? Does the pain occur spontaneously? Is there swelling or tenderness around the tooth?

A proper evaluation may include checking the crown or restoration, assessing the bite, examining the surrounding tissues, performing sensitivity tests and taking appropriate imaging.

Pain after dental treatment does not automatically mean the treatment has failed—or that you need a Root Canal Treatment.

If a treated tooth continues to hurt in Wakad, Pimple Gurav, Rahatani or nearby areas, finding the actual cause is important.

After treatment, persistent pain deserves a diagnosis—not assumptions.
